Soren Zederkof (aka) LOS
18x24 tintype
Wet collodion on metal plate
Process from the 19th century

A year after our first encounter, Søren Zederkof, also known as LOS, returned to my studio for another extraordinary session. LOS is a Danish musician, deeply connected to his Nordic roots and shamanic traditions, creating a haunting, immersive sound through his Drone/Roots project. His presence exudes a sense of raw, ancient energy, and capturing that essence through the wet plate collodion process feels almost ritualistic in itself.

The chemistry and light combined, once again, to create a timeless image that mirrors the depth of Søren’s creative spirit. As his music invokes the power of the elements—Earth, Water, Air, and Fire—this portrait seeks to encapsulate that same elemental force, capturing not only the likeness of a man but the essence of a journey that transcends time.
There is something profoundly meaningful in welcoming back someone with whom I’ve already shared this unique experience. It’s a testament to the connection forged not only through the photograph but through the process itself—a blend of artistry, craft, and shared humanity. Seeing Søren return to the studio reaffirms the magic that happens when we pause the world outside and focus on creating something eternal together.

It’s an honor to capture him once more, and this 18x24 tintype serves as both a reflection of his powerful musical legacy and the art we create together in the stillness of the studio.
