Throughout this journey with wet plate collodion, the most incredible part has undoubtedly been the people I’ve met along the way. Each portrait, captured in 13x18, is far more than just an image—it’s a moment frozen in time, a genuine exchange that transcends appearances. The process brings us to a kind of neutrality, where one’s talent, story, or status falls away, and what remains is the pure essence of the person in front of the camera. It’s an intimate encounter, stripped down, that immortalizes not just features but the energy and character of the individual. Beyond the portraits themselves, this journey has shown me incredible people, and that, without a doubt, is the greatest gift of this path.
